The North East Data Centre Hub will host its third industry event on the 2nd of July 2026 in Yarm, as the growing initiative continues to bring together professionals from across the data centre and digital infrastructure sector. The upcoming event will feature guest speaker Peter Wilcock from Latos Data Centres.
Since launching earlier this year, the Hub has quickly established itself as a key meeting point for the regional supply chain. The first event in February attracted over 100 attendees, while the follow-up event in April saw even stronger engagement, reflecting increasing interest in a dedicated forum for engineering, construction and infrastructure-focused collaboration.
Building on this success, the July event will be held at The Keys in Yarm, highlighting the Hub’s ambition to engage professionals across the wider North East. With events scheduled approximately every two months, the initiative is building a consistent platform for industry connection and knowledge exchange.
The North East Data Centre Hub was established by founding partners RED Engineering Design, Cleveland Cable Company, CMP Products, Durata, Daikin Applied (UK) Ltd and RWO Associates Ltd. The initiative is focused on strengthening the regional supply chain and supporting the delivery of data centre projects both nationally and internationally.
We're delighted to welcome Peter Wilcock, Chief Executive Officer at Latos Data Centres, as a guest speaker at the July event. Peter will be discussing sovereignty and the real opportunity that AI presents, sharing valuable insights into what this means for the future of digital infrastructure and the North East region.
With demand for data centre capacity continuing to rise, driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation, the need for collaboration across the supply chain is becoming increasingly important. The North East is well placed to support this growth, with a strong base of engineering expertise, infrastructure capability and access to key resources.
A spokesperson on behalf of the North East Data Centre Hub said: "The continued growth of the North East Data Centre Hub highlights the strength of the region's digital infrastructure sector. As investment in data centres and AI accelerates, our aim is to bring together the people, expertise and businesses that will help drive future growth across the North East."
The July event will combine informal networking with industry insight, giving attendees the opportunity to build relationships while staying informed on key trends and project demands. As the Hub continues to develop, future events are expected to introduce more technical content, guest speakers and themed discussions aligned with industry priorities.
