Throughout October 2026, Daikin Applied (UK) hosted its very own Great Daikin Bake Off, bringing colleagues together for four weeks of baking, creativity and friendly competition.
Open to employees across our office and shopfloor teams, the competition provided a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to showcase their baking talents, enjoy some homemade treats and take part in a fun team activity.
With four themed rounds taking place every Monday throughout October, our talented bakers put their skills to the test, while colleagues voted for their favourite creations to crown a Star Baker each week.
The Great Daikin Bake Off featured four different baking challenges, with each week bringing a new opportunity for colleagues to get creative in the kitchen.
The competition began with the Cake Round, as colleagues brought in a selection of homemade cakes to kick off the Great Daikin Bake Off.
Following the first round of voting, Andy was crowned our Cake Round Star Baker, setting the standard for the weeks ahead.
The second week saw our bakers turn their attention to pastry, showcasing their skills with a selection of homemade pies and quiches.
After another round of voting, Tia was announced as our Pastry Round Star Baker, taking home the second title of the competition.
Week three brought a selection of sweet treats as colleagues competed in the Brownie and Biscuit Round.
With plenty of delicious creations to choose from, Claire was crowned our third Star Baker following the votes.
The final week gave our bakers the opportunity to showcase their own specialities in the Signature Bake Round.
Bringing the month-long competition to a close, David was announced as our final Star Baker, rounding off four fantastic weeks of baking.
The Great Daikin Bake Off was about more than just baking. It provided an opportunity for colleagues from different departments to come together, share their creativity and enjoy some friendly competition outside their usual day-to-day activities.
From preparing homemade creations to sampling the entries and casting votes, colleagues across the business helped make the event an enjoyable experience throughout October.
Activities like the Great Daikin Bake Off are a great way to encourage teamwork, strengthen connections between colleagues and celebrate the people who make up Daikin Applied (UK).
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our first Great Daikin Bake Off, whether by baking, voting or supporting their colleagues throughout the competition.
