At Daikin Applied (UK), we know that great businesses are built by great people. While we spend every day helping customers create healthier, more comfortable indoor environments, we also recognise the importance of supporting the wellbeing of our own people, their families and the communities around us.
That spirit was on full display recently when colleagues, friends and families came together for our annual Family Fun Day at Craik Park in Morpeth.
The event wasn't just an opportunity to enjoy a fantastic day out, it was also a chance to raise vital funds for Andy's Man Club, the UK charity dedicated to preventing male suicide and supporting men's mental health.
At the heart of the Family Fun Day was our fundraising effort for Andy's Man Club.
The charity provides free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK, creating safe spaces where men can talk openly about their mental health. Their work has become increasingly important as awareness continues to grow around the challenges many men face in seeking support.
Throughout the day, visitors generously supported the fundraising through:
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, we were proud to raise more than £770 for Andy's Man Club.
Every ticket purchased, raffle entry sold and donation made will help the charity continue providing life-changing support to men across the UK.
Craik Park was transformed into a hub of activity, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Children spent the day enjoying a wide range of attractions, including bouncy castles, arts and crafts activities, games and competitions, costumed character entertainment, and a variety of refreshments and food stalls.
Seeing colleagues' families come together away from the workplace created a fantastic atmosphere, with laughter echoing around the park throughout the day.
Events like these remind us that behind every successful business are families, friendships and communities that deserve to be celebrated.
One of the highlights of the day was a friendly charity football match featuring members of the Daikin Applied (UK) team.
While the competitive spirit certainly came out once the whistle blew, the match was all about bringing people together for a worthwhile cause. Players of all abilities took part, with plenty of encouragement, and good-natured banter, from the side lines.
The football match perfectly captured what the day was all about: teamwork, community spirit and enjoying time together outside of work.
While raising money was a major goal, the Family Fun Day was also about strengthening the relationships that make Daikin Applied (UK) such a great place to work.
Taking time away from the workplace to connect with colleagues and their families helps build stronger teams, encourages collaboration and reinforces the values that underpin our business.
Creating positive experiences together has benefits that extend well beyond a single afternoon. Strong workplace relationships contribute to happier, healthier employees, and that ultimately benefits our customers too.
As Daikin Applied (UK) celebrates 60 years of manufacturing in Cramlington, colleagues, friends and families came together for a Family Fun Day at Craik Park in Morpeth. The event celebrated not only another successful year for the business, but also the people, families and communities that have supported our Northumberland operations over the past six decades.
Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the enthusiasm and generosity of so many people.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise the day, volunteered their time, donated raffle prizes, played in the football match and, of course, everyone who came along to support the event.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts. Raising over £770 for Andy's Man Club is an achievement everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.
We look forward to making next year's Family Fun Day even bigger and better.
