District Cooling
When looking for an optimal use of natural resources, District Cooling is a wise and effective strategy to be pursued. Up to 50% in electrical energy consumption can be avoided with respect to traditional air conditioning systems. This is a key element for warmer countries as in the Middle East and for enlightened energy services companies and policy makers. Our big centrifugal chillers WCT are capable to provide up to 6000 refrigerating tons (21000 kW) when arranged in series counterflow. Such a compact layout ensures cooling can be provided simultaneously to multiple buildings such as airports, hotels, stadiums, office towers, requiring a reduced footprint if compared to traditional systems.
Efficiency is a key element of our chillers, reaching outstanding levels for our centrifugal units on both full load and partial load operations, being thereby a cost-effective and short-time return on investment choice. Furthermore, our Intelligent Chiller Manager iCM can be employed to optimize the efficiency of big plants involving a group of chillers, being so a further cost-effective choice.
Centrifugal compressor technology is recognised worldwide as the preferred choice for district cooling plants. Daikin is mastering the full technological cycle by developing compressors in-house to ensuring chiller operating effectiveness in extensive factory tests before shipment.
