Summary
To manage and improve the UK service technical team, directly manage the UK field supervisors and through them improve & grow the UK technician team.
Improve productivity by closely managing utilisation, margin and project control. Develop and implement our connected service strategy, implement and develop our new “virtual visit” strategy. Be the essential UK link between the factory, product training initiatives & warranty.
To support the service, sales and aftersales team with technical questions and faults, this will include working with our factories and clients to ensure everyone gets the best possible service that we can offer.
Manage the UK Service Compliance manager to ensure all EHS & quality initiatives are on track. Work closely with our new service Manager to collectively ensure the UK service business.
Essential Functions & Duties
The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Work closely with the Technical Team, to maintain close contact with the sales and aftersales business market.

Manage and guide the UK field supervisors

Managing the UK Compliance manager ensure all UK EHS & Compliance issues are on track, develop a better and improved UK EHS culture in our technicians’ team.

You will be expected to work in a team environment to exceed customer expectations and in doing this provide expert technical support to customers and colleagues when required.

Will be required to work alone on own initiative so exceptional health and safety standards will be required. H+S training and equipment will be provided.

Develop a technical and training culture in our UK technicians’ team, through your team develop and train our new apprentices.

Work to tight time scales and within budget.

To assist in the development of our existing client base through exceptional standards of professionalism and service delivery.

To assist in the office to develop a support role with calls coming in from clients and engineers.

Adheres to Company policy for Quality Assured service and Health & Safety standards.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Accurately estimate projects, identifying tailored solution to meet the customers’ requirements.
-
Allocation of sub contact labour for the installation of contracts with specific responsibility for satisfactory technical and financial result.

In conjunction with the Service leadership team ensure maximum coverage within the area to secure the required level of regional contacting business.

Design, and project manage, within the bounds of our “in-house knowledge” and discuss and agree sales margins to ensure that these margins are achieved and maintained at contract completion.

Plan & deliver the project to ensure the Company meets its contractual commitments.

Exercise proper control over work in progress, ensuring speedy job completion.

Ensure that the Company’s technical and safety standards are maintained and to make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Responsible for verification of supplier invoicing against orders raised and preparation of a detailed sale Invoice(s).

Assisting on ad-hoc and change projects throughout the year.

Offer technical support for all field operatives in a timely manner.

Attend customer meetings where applicable, to support the business from a technical point.

Collate customer quotations as required.

Support the service supervisors in some daily tasks, if required.

Report back any field operational issues on a monthly basis.

Assist in any development of operational systems where and when applicable.

Ensuring all work (personally & field team) is carried out to correct standards as set out by the company from an HSE and UK legislation standpoint.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Main Key Responsibilities
Training
Develop training plans and materials for commercial and service teams on both new and existing products. This is to be in cooperation with commercial product training delivery where needed. External trainer role either through CPD delivery or college / university young engineer engagement. Deliver client base training in a classroom and site plant areas.
Technical Support
Support across products for commercial, projects, warranty and service teams, this will include general technical queries and client meetings both pre and post sales.
Commercial Support
Support across products for commercial team, including special execution pricing and quotation support as required.
DOS
Monitor DOS with DOS team on a daily approach and flag any issues with service, warranty or the client.
Data Centre
Support chiller side data technical solutions including product development path and key tender assistance through to client sign off.
Pre-Design Enhancement
Assist with market research and marketing to enable robust product development drives. Liaise between sales, service and factory for product improvements. This will be focused on new unit design in trying to shape factory engineering for future product development to ensure warranty / in-field issues are reduced.

Qualifications / Experience

Mechanical Engineering Degree level qualification preferred (but not essential)

Experience within the HVAC or a similar service industry in a management position
-
Business administration and management qualification – level 3 upwards
